I hold more than 30 different investment products. On that bunch of 30 of more investments, only 5 never let me down, in a sense that I never lost money (meaning never lost the initial investment money), even in bad times.
My top 5:
Fonds Desjardins Fidelity Frontière Nord
Energy and Base Metals Term Savings (Indexed term savings) – with Desjardins, but this GIC is now close
Maritime Life CI Harbour Seg Fund
Maritime Life Fidelity True North Seg Fund
CIBC Monthly Income Fund
Proof that it's very difficult to find very good investments.
IF these funds never let you down, then why hold the other 25.....
ReplyDeleteHI Sunny
ReplyDeleteam finding your blog most interesting as i follow you everyday. are you saying that you have always preserved your capital? if so, that is just great as most of the investments with dividends give you 10% and the savings in the tax department, i bought Pengrowth today even though it was up pretty high...looks to me like a nice stock.
will remember the financial advisor who told me when i asked for dividend funds that "oh they don't make you money" i said that is the mutual funds that i am interested in, this is rsp's and he put me ,yep, i let him, in a fund that today is way down and never went back up, fortunately for me , i transferred out of this place to a bank. have i made my money back since the depression of 08 and 09 , no am down $15,000 in mutual funds...so sunny , you do better than the 3 advisors i have had in my lifetime and remember there are fees , fees to get out too.
