Look who's rich and have super cash! And this is the kind of info that people and the Dividend Girl just LOVEEEEEEEE to know. Of course. Because life is all about money. You must know that by now.
That’s quite impressive! Jonathan Chevreau of the Financial Post reported that at 75 years of age, Gordon Pape is 2 times millionaire. I am not looking to have that much zeroes, for me, the ultimate please will be reach 200 000$ value in investment value will be just enough for me and 2012 could be the year where the 200k POP from this blog!
A new Gordon Pape book in on the way: Retirement’s Harsh New Realities, Protecting your money in a changing world.
I just hope I won’t need any hearing aids when I will be 75.
HI Sunny,,,just sold two pengrowths at a nice profit..bought it at $9.92 a year ago so with dividends and the little profit...i feel better , it just is too unsure. i still have 400 left though at a higher price ,damn. what i want to know is did you make any money in Enbridge holdings and what was the high.
ReplyDeletei meant 200 shares of Pengrowth..sorry.
ReplyDeleteI hope so too, but don't count on it. Everyone's hearing starts to diminish with age.
ReplyDeleteA $2M portfolio is not all that large. If you are living off a portfolio of $2M, with prudent withdrawals of 4%, that is just $80,000 a year.
ReplyDeleteDon't pay a single penny for books to this Gordon Pape or your Derick Foster. They are not retired, they SELL BOOKS FOR A LIVING. All the information for learning how to invest is out there for free, try a free investment test account at RBC or BMO to get started. You will be rewarded for your efforts !!
ReplyDeleteHi Ruth,
ReplyDeleteNice to hear about your profit in PGF but you should have hold it. PGF is a nice little one.
I made a profit on ENB.
Hi.. Gordon Pape??? :)
Hi Susan,
do you know that you are a superstar around here?
I am from a rural community in NB and in here 200 000$ = 2 million $$$. Even a 50k represent so much money. I never taught that once day I will be holding a 50k. That's why I have that domain name but knowing that I would have reached the 50k so early, I would have grab another domain address.
Anonymous, well, of course, they made money from their books. I made very very good money on Derek Foster picks. Stuff like PGF, ENF, ENB, PPL, CDL.A, I got it from Derek Foster. I double my money on PPL! So come on, don't be mean on the guy, please.
I got FC from Gordon Pape and FC have perform very well so far. I will be earning a special dividend from FC soon...
I go with what work best but I do not agree with everything Derek Foster says. Same thing with Gordon Pape. Same thing with Eric Sprott. That one is actually worst, he mades $$$ from the money we invest in his mutual funds, stocks etc...
It's so difficult those days to have a good portfolio, we are very lucky in Canada to have those personalities including Susan Brunner to help the retail investors to make some real cold cash and kick ass.
:)
No where did Gordon Pape proclaim to be living off his investment portfolio although he could. He works because he loves what he does and probably doesn't want to sit at home all day and do nothing.
ReplyDeleteI guess you have it right. No one want to stay inactive even while having a lot of $$$.
ReplyDeleteYOu know sunny that pengrowth was jumping up and down too much as i feel it is being shorted and those guys can smell a company struggling...i still own 400 , there are better places for my money than one that hovers around the same price for weeks...i think this company is struggling and i want to be wrong.
ReplyDeletewho was it that recommended that Timminco stock?
ReplyDeleteTIM was pumped by Sprott Asset Management. From 30 dollar to zero.
ReplyDeleteOnly 2 million? With his knowledge and experience it should be much higher!,
ReplyDeletei wonder what gp would be worth if he had stayed away from mutual funds and bought dividend stocks instead? i also couldn't see why he would promote reverse mortgages.
