as far as as I know, it's only the President Account (assets greater than 500k) that would change the rate, and it would be only 0.75% Non presidential accounts have a fxed 5% interest rate for any balance https://www.td.com/ca/products-services/investing/td-direct-investing/accounts/rates.jsp

I am a French Canadian New Brunswicker. On August 5th, 2009, I achieved my goal of having $50,000 in investment assets. My ultimate goal is to achieve financial freedom, and at least live happily with my money and be able to achieve my objectives, even if I do not retire early. It all starts with that first $50,000. My email, if you'd like to say hello, is myfirst50000 (at) yahoo.ca.

My TDDI margin account drops the interest rate 1 percentage point on balances over $100,000. It might save you money to borrow another $1000.
