Could it be? American Express is offering me a 0% interest rate for 6 months

I must be the luckiest girl in the word. The weather is absolutely gorgeous these days in Montreal. ITS THE SUMMER! YOUHOUUU. And the summer mean I don't give a damn of what's going on with the stock market... or almost. I am looking from a distance. My non-registered portfolio closed at $120 040. My margin is at $50 060, which is good because I don't want to use more than 50k of my margin money. My numbers are looking great for now.

I always find things to do during the evenings. I only want to be outside. Last evening was spent in the Old Montreal and this evening was spent at a X public swimming pool located in X spot closed to where I live on this X street... Just somewhere in Montreal. On the hot spot.

I had received a call this evening. My tax declaration is ready. Only my expenses for my self-employment need to be taking care of, but that's all. So I guess that by next week I will be done. I have no idea how much I will have to pay on taxes, but it will be around $600 I believe, if not more. Quebec province is really beautiful during the summer, but the tax system is running everything.

But God is watching and decided to help me. Previously, we chat about TD Visa giving me a 2.9% and a fee of 1% on the balance. Well, this time, its even better because I have a 0% interest rate with no other related fee to pay and that's good for 6 months. Where am I? Is this heaven? Where am I?

I have another 4k+ transfer that need to be completed to TD Visa. I have closed to 3k available on my American Express. I will certainly used the 0% interest fee for my own interest, that's for sure. This is just coming right on time for the summer! Nice.

About this past weekend (sorry, this only a hello post, no investment story to tell or almost)

Did you have a nice weekend? Mine had been AWESOME! I usually do my cleaning, laundry and everything else on Sunday, but knowing how gorgeous the weather was going to be, I took care of the cleaning on Friday evening.

On Saturday, I wake up around 9 AM, which I rarely do and I went out for breakfast. Following what, I did my grocery shopping. Once I came back, I saw a parade. There was that very good reggae singer and there was green balloon with weed flower on it... AND it was smelling POT! It was a parade for the legalization of marijuana. I am totally against the idea, but I have to say, I very liked the smell of the fresh smoked weed... hummmmmmm it smell gooddd lol.

In the afternoon, I went swimming in an interior pool. It was FREE. I went swimming for a good 2 hours. After that, I came back home, clean my hot new bathing suit, did my nails in a pretty pink shade and I went to the casino. I stupidly lost and played $40. i used to go there and win-win-win. Its good that I actually lost this time because I have better things to do than playing at the Casino. Its not very healthy going there and playing the hard earned money. It doesn't really worth it. Its only create a desire to go back, and go back, ding-ding-ding.... I have enough. In another life, I might had been a great Casino player, but not in this one. After loosing my $40 I went back downtown Montreal for shopping and I went see Iron Man 3. Its a fun movie to watch.

Today, I wake up early, went off for breakfast and I went for a longgg walked to the Mont-Royal. It was absolutely stunning. But the Castor Lake was empty of water. I went to the Cemetery Côte-des-Neiges and I saw the grave of Maurice Richard, a famous hockey player. Its the only celebrities grave I had been able to find. But I have to say, I didn't went deep inside the cemetery. On my way back, I took the wrong trail and I finish my walked in the forest in Côte-des-Neiges. I was totally lost but I noticed some downtown buildings. I was closed to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. On my way back home, I went to ice cream and beer (yeah yeah, you read right)...but oh mistake, a few hours later, I was completely dead. Once home, I take a nap and I did some laundry.

I had plan to work on some HubPages articles this weekend but with the beautiful weather, no-no, no time. I had received recently a $58 from HubPages. The idea was to write more to earn a bit more and pay for my festive shopping of the last few days. I am almost done with the shopping for now. The only other thing I would like is a new pair of sandals but its not a mandatory thing. Especially knowing I have a trip ahead plan for New Brunswick at the end of the month. I have off on Victoria day and I was thinking of going on somewhere. But no plan yet.

And now, another week is about to begin.

I was quite surprised with the amount of cash I had left available following my rent payment. This mean that I haven't done anything with pay I received 2 weeks ago. Which is very strange because I usually transfer any funds available to my margin account. I had $1 500 available. No plan ahea.

Summer is definitively my season. If I wouldn't be working, I would spend all my time outside, or in the pool, or drinking beer until I cannot take no more (but one is generally all I can take).

TD Visa now charge a 1% fee on credit card balance transfer

Its always kind of a bad day when you have to give that big cheque for rent. I mean why is it costing that much only to have a root under my head? Toooo bad. A couple of hundred bucks just gone with the wind.

I was all so happy yesterday: just like magic, my non-registered portfolio was hitting back the 120k! I never taught I was going to hit it again anytime soon. But today, it went under the 120k. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at a bit more than 119k. I am still lucky, I guess. But I am not lucky anymore with TD Visa.

For what had been now a very very long time, TD Visa offer me special interest rate on credit card balance transfer for 6 months. I had the rate of 4.9%, 2.9% and 1.9%. Currently, the rate on credit card balance transfer at TD Visa is of 2.9%. I had the promotion in my account like 4 ever now. Every 6 months, I take the balance of my TD Visa and transfer it someplace else (on another Visa card). Once the transfer is completed, I transfer the balance from the X other Visa back to TD Visa. In the past, I had named the procedure "ping-pong", I guess you understand why, because it is what it is, its really a hot ping-pong game between 2 Canadian institutions. Nice isn't?

In the past few years, TD Visa treat me like its Queen, its fabulous princess. I am a TD princess. I always get everything or almost I want with TD. Is it nice to be a TD princess? Yeah, it is. But now, the myth is broken. TD Visa is now playing against me.

Wanna long more on what's going on right now between TD Visa and the Dividend Girl?

Ok, well, last time I call TD Visa to have my credit card balance completed, I was told that on May 1st, a credit balance fee of 1% will apply on top of the promotional interest rate. Let say I want to transfer $4 000 over TD Visa at their promotional rate of 2.9%, on top of the interest, a one time fee of 1% ($40 in this example) will apply.

I WAS SHOCKED when I learned this.

TD VISA, the Dividend Girl is really really upset.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH What a deception. TD Visa, you used to rock my world, and you too are treating me like shit just like the other bank.

I am no longer a TD princess.

The myth had came to an end.

Welcome back, 120k worth non-registered portfolio. And welcome sunshine!

I am just very glad that I am back on the 120k value for my non-registered portfolio! I closed today session at $120 730. It would be nice if it could simply remain that way. When my portfolio go down, I always find it hard to imagine it will ever go up again... but it always does... May God bless Canada! We have the best stock market of the world. Because of the slow economic growth going on in China and in the US and rest of the world, I was mentally ready to face a down in my portfolio for the rest of the year if not even more.

Don't ask me anything about the stock market because I don't know anything and I find it quite hard to follow... Its a complete non sense like all the time. But I am able to find myself in the chaos. That's why I am still here after all those years. We went many years together, from before the 2008 stock market crash to today, in my year of 32 where I found some glowing white hair in my cascade. There's just things like that who were meant to be like that. Maybe I was supposed to live and died in Quebec province after all. Don't ask me. I don't know anything.

For for what I know I am at $744 in dividend income for April. I am enjoying the free cash because I had been shopping and I spent a few bucks. But for the rest of the summer there will be no more spending. This make me think that I have to pay my rent tomorrow. Its very hard to believe that another month came to an end. I didn't do much, just the usual. I had a little vacation in April. I hope to get another one in May, but nothing is confirm yet. The schedule is crazy and I am just very glad that I am only a 40 minutes distance walk away from work. I wouldn't like to take the metro every morning to go to work. The metro is disgusting. Its creepy and not very clean underground. And always so hot. Today I was hot. I am going to wear a long skirt to go to work. I began to have enough of the grey, black, brown pants.

I completed my taxes last week. I probably going to have an appointment next week to complete everything. I still need to calculate my expenses and stuff for my freelance. I had been too busy shopping and playing out in the sunshine. No time for the boring stuff in my live.

Today was the first day of the summer in Montreal

I went for shopping pass noon today and it was great to feel the heat of the sun. I was wearing jeans, a sweatshirt and running shoes... and I was very hot. So I went back on, pick on a summer dress and I  went back to my little escapade. Wearing a summer dress on the end of April felt real nice.

And wearing a summer dress just gave me another do: shop for more summer dresses! So I got on 3 summer dresses and a nice skirt, and a shirt. I also bought L'Oréal self-tanning lotion Sublime Bronze and once back home, I try it on. Its working quite nicely. I am very pale, so self-tanning lotion is just very perfect for me. I can have a tan while wearing a 50 protector. See what I mean?

Just to let you know - (but do you really care about that??? lol) - I finally got my hair coloration done this weekend too. So let's say that this weekend, I changed of color, my hair, and my entire body. Does it look good? I hope. Anyway, males are everywhere in Montreal and some male species just look incredible. I blow off more than $200 this weekend alone and it was fun. I am not expecting to blow more for this summer on shopping, if not a few other things that I am thinking of at this time. Girls always need more stuff. I guess you would like to see a picture of my glowing legs (oh lala) and my summer dresses, but for now, my iPod is dead.

So we are just going to chat about my non-registered portfolio closed last Friday session at $118 931. My margin usage exceed the 51k, so once I received my paycheck this week, I plan to pay off a good 1k if not more on my margin. My goal would be a margin of not more than 45k in usage. To do so, I need to inject 5k more. Its quite some cash.

I had gave up the idea of getting a second job because I am enjoying my free time too much. Sunday is the time of the week where I get ready for another week of work. I do my grocery shopping, my lunch for the week, I clean my place and do some laundry. That always take off a few hours of my Sunday. The very best day is Saturday. That make only one single day for me. Nothing more.

I may however get on more of my freelance. Just some ideas, nothing more.

There's too many changes at work and I began to hate it there. When you say that les apparences sont souvent trompeuses, well it is clearly that at where I work. It may be located right downtown, in a nice building, well despite being well located, there's nothing more because the company hasn't provide any raise this year to their employees, absolutely nothing to beta off inflation. They hired and gave away money like crazy but when it come to cover the basic, they are animals.

I am still at the same place where I had been hired last summer. I went from May to September without any vacations, I was promised a $500 for it, but when they gave me a permanent position, they didn't gave me the 500, saying it was a leaving bonus. I hate them very much for doing that to me. A few employees had left and one other is about to leave and its giving them a hard time. And I am very grateful that they are going to that hard time. They hired, and they don't want to hire. They want some seniors, but seniors cost $$$ to hire... etc etc.

I hate giving away so much of my time to an employer that isn't respectful of its employees. And I don't like living in Quebec province that much. I am a Canadian and I want to live in a place where sexy Canadians like myself shine. I hate those Quebeckers too much. But for a reason or another, they are not getting enough of me. Its just because of nice booty. There will always men who will fall in love with me (even Quebecker men).

From Dividend Girl to Casino junkie: the life and lies of a New Brunswicker

This month had been quite great for my dividend income, but not for my portfolio value. I don't like to see my non-registered value falling below the mark of 120k. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at a close 118k. Getting closer to the original 120k, but not back yet there. I don't like to deal with a down market.

I received lately dividend from SII, AGU. VSN, RSI. They are not from my dividend income page for 2013 yet. But what I did today was my taxes. I had all my papers ready yesterday evening. The only thing missing is my tax declaration for my expenses as a self-employed. I hope I won't have too much extra to pay down on taxes.

I haven't work that much around my self-employed work lately. Don't ask me too much on what I had been doing lately because there's been nothing much. I go to work on weekdays. My life as a worker is not that much exciting. I find much more excitement on investing in dividend stock. I had been thinking of getting a second job but I haven't move on the idea.

I don't have anything to say. I am too tired.

This is the kind of shitty post you get when I am not in the mood for blogging. Just sleeping..zzz

(But the post title is just very nice).

Telus Corp (T) split is completed!

After work, I took a long walk downtown Montreal. The weather was great and I wasn’t in a hurry to return home following the “another” correction we had today on the stock market. It’s playing quite rough out there!

Today, Telus Corp (T) completed its split! For now, Telus is trading about the same trading value as before the split. If the stocks were 2 to 1 – it will make a bit more than $70 per stock. This is quite good knowing that again today, the TSX lost more than a 100 points.

Before the crash, I had a few investments that were doing so-so, like SII, JE, DGI. Some other stuff that were doing great are not doing so great anymore and they are about to take the same road as the so-so stocks. First Majestic Silver Corp (FR) is giving me a headache (among other...). Just 5 days ago, FR was trading at about $17 per stock, and now... it’s trading at less than $12.

Another stock I am having problem with is Horizons Gold Yield Fund (HGY). Usually, the value of HGY is around $10 per unit. But right now, it’s closer to $7 than the original $10.
Sprott Inc. (SII) is also taking an in deep slash down... But SII was already down in my portfolio, so this is not a surprise. But I was quite surprise by the lost experimented in FR. I used to have more FR stocks than that – I sell at profit half of the investment I hold in FR a little while ago. I am very glad I did!

The slow growth in the US and China is taking the world by surprise and in results, gold, silver and mining are taking the hit. I heard so many times about a double dip recession. Could it be it? We had the first dip in 2008 and 5 years later, we are taking the second dip? Is it what’s going on?
If it’s the case, I will do my best to manage. During the 2008 crash, I brought in some marvelous stock in my portfolio. My best souvenir will remain forever Methanex (MX) that I bought about $15 at that time. It’s now trading at more than FORTY bucks per stock. Now a bit less than $40, but I guess you get the picture anyway.

Now you understand why this sexy momma is not about to get a margin call anytime soon.

At this time, I wouldn’t consider silver and gold as investment. I already hold my part of gold and silver in my portfolio. My portfolio is already volatile enough. Right now, I have to behave just like if we were back in 2008. Meaning: it’s time to invest in quality stock at cheap price. Which stocks are the best safest thing? Nothing is safe when it comes to stock, but I personally adore something like CNR for example. And maybe even AGU.

However, for me at this time, I wouldn’t know in what to invest because I mostly hold it all in my portfolio. It’s too bad Derek Foster is not investing in Canadian stocks anymore. Maybe Susan Brunner will come with another hot stock. Her ALA had done pretty well in my portfolio. I was quite intrigue when she post a complete post about a warning, some stocks are good for her, not for other? I mean, if its good enough for Susan Brunner, its good enough for me, end of the little discussion. I may have scare her for good.

Tomorrow is another day on the stock market. Will the TSX behave like a sexy bitch again? Arggg

Telus Corp (T) is getting ready for its 2 for 1 split. Are you ready?

Tomorrow, it will happen. For the first time in its history, Telus is going to split! I am quite exciting by this. I had experiment not split but roll over, like 8 to 1 in the case of DNI Metals (DNI) and also BNT. In both cases, following the roll over, the stock had gained in value. Will Telus split stocks will gain in fabulous value? That's what we are going to watch out for tomorrow and in the days to come.

The TSX market bitch gain a bit more than a 100 points today. Good, but we are still missing a 200 points just to stand where we were before.

My non-registered portfolio closed near by the 118k today. Not bad, but I am not in my regular 120k. I felt better today as the market were gaining points, I was getting better too... When I wake up this morning, it was just another regular day, at the exception that I transferred a 5k value from my credit line to my margin account to secure my margin... It happen it wasn't needed. I but back the money on the credit line, but tomorrow again, just to safe my back, I am going to transfer again the 5k on the margin account.

I am 32 years old, I never taught I will ever of my life write this one day, but since I didn't had a hair coloration in a few months at the salon, the roots of my natural hair color began to show up. Until here, no problem, its totally normal to have roots in between coloration. But I had a shock while looking in the mirror... I have a few white hairs! How come? My mom started having white hair in her late fifties. I am 32, not 52!!!

Anyway, I notice the white hairs because while looking carefully at my roots, I started seeing a hair more light up than other... gees.... and there it was... a white hair! I have at least 2 white hairs. If I notice 2, I might have a few more that I cannot see. You, blog readers, are the only one to know about my white hairs. My mom doesn't know and I won't tell her. It will only broke her heart probably. I don't know for her, but my white hairs had broken my heart.

Crash poor little stock market, crash

I wasn't that much busy at work today, but I arrived very early because I was expecting to deal with a difficult task, but the difficult task wasn't so difficult after all. I had read up the news during my break. I was quite shock to see what I see: the TSX lost 300 points. OH NO! I always have a bit of sadness while going through a crash like that. Everything I worked so hard far is about to fall apart. This is not my first crash, its probably won't be the last one. But each time, getting a taste of the disaster is always hard and taste sour.

This past Friday, my portfolio closed at $119 426, with a margin left worth $11 817.02.
And today, I am at $116 975.84. For the margin, I am probably at something like 8k... Sound scary? It is. But I have cash on credit lines and tomorrow morning before going to work, I will transfer funds from my credit lines to my margin account, just to make sure I am safe. This is the kind of trouble you deal with while being on a margin account.

I had the margin since a little while now, I guess 2-3 years. I never had any trouble, but if the market crash, the value of the stocks crash and in result, there will be only a very small amount of cash left on the margin account. This week is payday, but after rent and student loans, I will have less than $500 left... I don't have many options. At TD itself, I have 15k of unused money on credit lines. At RBC, I have another 10k. I have a 7k credit card or so at RBC. And I have a few thousands of credit card at CIBC. I will use my credit line before my credit card and before even using my credit cards, I will transfer my TFSA over my non registered portfolio to help boost up my margin value. I had set up a similar plan in the past while dealing with crash, but I never had to used that strategy.

The problem with a crash like this is we never know how it can turn. Will the market crash again tomorrow? I really don't know. And no one know that for sure. The sooner will reach the bottom, the better it will be. I don't care being stuck in a slow growth economy for the next 5 to 10 years, but I REALLY don't a margin call from TD Waterhouse sexy brokers and I REALLY don't want to experiment a catastrophic situation.

It never happen so far and I don't expect something catastrophic to happen because my portfolio have a couple of strong players like AGU, BNS, BDI, CNR, CU, CGX, CDL.A, DH, EMA, ENB, EIF, FTS, KBL, XRE, MX, PPL, PBH, X, TRP, WEQ and WTE, just to name the very very good ones. Fact is, the best quality stocks won't let you down in time of crisis. The only reason why I am probably going to survive to the chaos ONE MORE TIME baby is because of those super right on top holders.

Among my recent acquisitions, I am EXCESSIVELY proud of my investment in Stella Jones Inc. (SJ) which gain 3.45% in my RRSP portfolio so far.

Telus (T) is still exceeding the $70 per stock despite the today crash - this is quite good too.

AltaGas Ltd (ALA) is still exceeding the $35 per stock. This is quite good knowing what happen on the market today.

Anyway, expect more chaos once I get my 2012 tax declaration completed. I probably will have to pay a 1k extra in taxes simply because I AM TOO RICH. Stock market, just get ready to get a punch in the face because I am getting enough of the bullshitting.

:0)

My weekend at the Montreal Casino

This weekend, I had purchased 4 lottery tickets for the 6/49 lottery. The price was over 50 millions... And something magical happens. I haven’t won all of those millions. But I win... $2. I had the very last number printed on one of my tickets... The extraordinary reside in this: only around 19 000 had won a 2 bucks. And I was among those 19 000 people. Isn’t great? I guess millions had bought tickets, but I was one in the 19 000 who won a $2.

I know, I know...

Another weekend passed too quickly. When my mom came visit me during the Easter Holiday, we went to the Montreal Casino. I won something like $200 at that time. And ever since, I only had one idea: go back to the Casino! And I went again this weekend. I played on the same machine and I found to be successful on the game again, Fairy something on the Promenade floor. On the third floor, there’s the Diamond Stars something game that is fun to play, but the money can be quickly spent if the machine doesn’t decided to pay. With its big screen, the Volcano, also on the third floor if I am not mistaking, is another hot game. There’s even a Sex and the City game. “YOU WON THE DIAMONDS BABY’’. That’s what the machine said when you win a few cents... As you can see, I gain valuable gamer experience at the Montreal Casino this weekend.

The machines are there to make money, so my trick is: as soon as I win something, I get off. I went to the Casino this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I made a $90, didn’t lose any money and I was real happy about it. But don’t expect me to go there anytime soon: I got enough. This being said, my next Montreal-X town in New Brunswick ticket is half paid off.... Is it tempting enough to go the Casino again next week?

I spent a big part of the weekend there. I walked around between games, watching over the machines and the people. I heard a man disputing an employee over a machine, saying that the machine wasn’t paying.... Another time was an old lady who got upset at the bus driver because she had been waiting for 10 minutes for the bus... People can turn real crazy around a Casino. Some players get hypnotize by their machine. They can really get into it. Seeing so many people playing, spending their money around all weekend long was truly enough. There are many seniors around, maybe more than young people of my age. And playing long hours, trying to get a strategy over those dumb blond machines well you know, at a point, I had enough too. But it was fun.

While going to the Casino, you need to keep in mind that it’s only a game. It’s possible to make interesting little gain; I discover that in 4 times so far. The more people there is playing, the most likely you are to make a bit of money. When I see that a machine doesn’t pay, I switched. I often pick a machine where I saw someone playing on for a long time. That strategy doesn’t often pay of course. The trick is to be in control and to give yourself some limits and leave the debit card home. It’s the best advice I can provide. Ding ding ding... and free coffees and drinks will be missed, but not the seniors.

Thank you
