Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ATD.B), Royal Bank of Canada (RY) and Thomson Reuters Corporation (TRI): welcome in my RRSP portfolio!

Last week, before happen the horrible shooting in Orlando, I decided to sell off completely something I had been holding on like it seem to me for being forever inside my RRSP portfolio: iShares Gold Bullion Fund (CGL). I made about $80 off the sale. Gold sector is very rough and I had really enough of holding on to something that result to barely nothing at all in term of capital gain, and even less in term of dividend income, because iShares Gold Bullion Fund (CGL) doesn't pay any dividend distribution.

Following the sale of my CGL units, I immediately bought some shares of Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ATD.B), Royal Bank of Canada (RY) and Thomson Reuters Corporation (TRI). All of 3 pay some dividends and should be good investments for the long run. It cannot be worst than iShares Gold Bullion Fund (CGL), that's for sure.

At this point, my dividend income is at $6 199.61 annually (without including RRSP). And I cannot wait to earn income. In order to do so, there's no magic trick. I can invest more or rearrange whatever I can. I had been holding JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN) in every part of my portfolio, non-registered, TFSA and RRSP. Usually speaking, JFS.UN pay an annual dividend distribution, but this year, they had reinvested their dividend distribution directly into the fund, leaving nothing for me to enjoy. I took the decision a little way back to sell all of the JFS.UN units that I hold in my non-registered portfolio.

I didn't proceed to the sale yet, but it will happen soon and I will do, I will transfer the money in my TFSA and invest in something that could be a Derek Foster stock, Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAR.UN). That new investment should bring in about $100 in annual dividend. Another brick in the wall.

For the very first time, net worth of $160 000 is in the place!

Yesterday, I knew I had no choices, I had to post an update of my investment portfolio because I knew that my net worth had reached the 160k. And it did! Yesterday, I registered a net worth of $161 438.07. And today, I might be at 163k. That's all because the TSX is on fire. My non-registered portfolio closed yesterday session at $138 290.05... and today... $139 944.02. Its hard to believe, but my non-registered portfolio is close to the 140k! At that rhythm, I will be surfing on a $200 000 net worth in no time. I will come to satisfaction when I will have 400k. Half a million would be good too. In the mean time, getting closer to $200 000 is EXCITING. Show be what you hold, and I will you who you are. In my case, its pretty simple. I am a priceless bling-bling princess with a taste of adventure (when you hold as much stocks a I do, that only say one thing up loud). Go figure.

Its not easy to find new stuff to invest in. Not if you are desperately trying to make good choices. Reitmans (Canada) Ltd. is not a bad choice, but there's no chance that this stock is going to glow of capital gain glory in a close future. See what I mean? I am at a point where I need some truly powerful stuff to come my way. I truly know how hard it is to make good investment choices, that's a lot of the reason why I am blogging. But don't worry, you are not alone! and I am good at getting the right stuff my way because I am smart enough to read - again - Susan Brunner blog.

As you know, I am seriously thinking about selling all of the units I hold of JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN). JFS.UN doesn't pay regular dividend distribution, there's management fee hidden somewhere. And the capital gain made on the investment is ok, but not spectacular. And I need a bit more than what Jean-François Tardif can offer me at this time. I need big money big time! However, I will continue to hold to JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN) units inside my TFSA and RRSP.

In that deeply desperate search of mine, something catch my attention: Thomson Reuters Corporation (TRI). YES, FINALLY. That's the one! This is what I am going to do: sell my JFS.UN investment off my non-registered, transfer the money in my TFSA and invest in TRI. I also find Canadian Apartment Properties Real Estate Investment Trust (CAR.UN) quite interesting. That one is coming from Derek Foster.

I almost have $500 in cash in my RRSP. I was thinking about Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. (ATD.B) - another Derek Foster pick.

Those are the plans for now.

May 2016: a month to remember for investors

The month of May is best known for being a terrible month for investors, but May had been a very great month for my investment portfolio. Back on May 23, my net worth was of $156 327.28. I suspect my net worth to be something of the very close of $160k at this time and this being without new investments. I may post an update of my investment portfolio this weekend just to find out if I am sitting on a $160 000 fortune or not.

I have some money leftover, but it seem to me like when I have no investment plan, there's no pleasure to hold money in the bank. It seem impossible for me to just keep money in there: I spent or invest it, one way or the other. Its like a human being without soul, you turn out into a zombie, go to work from Monday to Friday and run to the gym without any other goal, without any purposes in life.

My life could get very boring without investing and without blogging.

But here I come, with all those new projects for my stock portfolio! Yeah!

First of all, my annual dividend income - without counting the dividend raise of National and Laurentian Bank - is of $6 196.29 (this exclude dividend I earn inside my RRSP). I am looking for ways to increase that amount. So I was checking on my very long list of holdings, when I stare at JFT Strategies Fund (JFS.UN). I hold JFS.UN units in my non-registered, TFSA and RRSP account. I was expecting stronger result from JFS.UN. I will continue to hold JFS.UN inside my TFSA and RRSP portfolio, but I may sell the units I hold inside my non-registered portfolio, and transferred the money inside my TFSA to invest in something new. However, I don't know what I will be investing in using that money.

I own a chuck of that 160k investment that I own to Susan Brunner. I invested in K-Bro Linen Inc. (KBL) following her - among other. To Jean-François Tardif, I own Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (PBH), on which I made several thousand of dollars. Its cool to read on other people stuff, but you need to quite sexy smart to make the right decisions. If not, you could lose everything. When you are 100% invested, you need to be sexy smart - your choices will make your glory or destroyed your financial situation. Its not that hard to invest smartly and kick up some ass.

Susan Brunner always start her reviews by saying something like I do don't own this stock... or I own this stock... Personally, I usually skip the posts where she said I do not hold this stock... Because time is money, and I only want to learn about the stocks that Susan Brunner hold. I recently came over her post about Reitmans (Canada) Ltd. and I thinking about investing probably on Monday a little amount in Reitmans (Canada) Ltd.

Other than that, I don't have my eyes on any other stocks at the current time.

Hello, super sexy hot cool net worth of $156 327.28. That money is all MINE. YES SIR

On August 27, I will be TURNING 36, and things are looking good for the Dividend Girl to be sitting on a $160 000 net worth right in time for my 36 birthday. Do you understand the relationship between those 2 numbers?

I spent my Saturday in Ottawa, where I enjoy the Rideau Canal and the fabulous tulips.

It cost me $83 for the bus tickets.

It was my first visit to Ottawa in a couple years and I found that the city had changed a bit. There's construction a bit everywhere. The Shaw Centre is very impressive. Despite its beauty, its nothing much than a conference center. I saw a couple of new condominiums downtown. The Rideau Centre is no longer the same. Sears is no longer there, they had a brand new store to replace it: Nordstrom.

No store is very pretty and appealing, but everything in there is VERY very expensive. I found that generally speaking, there's a lot of expensive stores now at the Rideau Centre. Like Tiffany, Michael Kors, Zara, Tommy Hilfiger. I personally never buy anything at those stores. Rideau Centre is now targeting a high class clientele.

While being at the Rideau Centre, I stop at LCBO liquor store and I bought two bottles: Peller Estates 2014 Vintage Chardonnay and Peller Estates French Cross Rosé, on which I got drunk on last night. I am now a shareholder of Andrew Peller Limited, so this was the occasion to get a taste of what Peller Estates offer. I don't drink that much, but when I began a bottle, I usually finish it on the same day - especially when its rosé. Fortunately, I didn't drink all of that Peller Estates French Cross Rosé I bought, I have some left for another happy time. Peller Rosé is very good. And best thing of all, its a Canadian Rosé! Make me proud Ontario readers and go boost Peller Estates sale at your local LCBO. Let's go baby and make me rich Andrew Peller!

$$$ ;-)

I didn't make extensive search, but I don't think that Peller Estates are available in Quebec province, unfortunately.

I had registered great grow in my portfolio. I am now at $221 514.63. I am getting closer to the $300 000. And when it will happen, sexy net worth will be at $234 812.37. I can only dream, but it wasn't that long ago that I was dreaming of my first $50 000 net worth... May the TSX be on my side and God with me so I can continue to make elegant investment moves and make money like water.

Something new for my RRSP portfolio: Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. (WB)

I still didn't take time to update my investment portfolio and dividend income, but I estimate my net worth to be at least at $157 000. Its still going all that way up.

I was quite shock to learn that Russia had approached Justin Trudeau office to help stop the wildfire in Alberta... Can't the US provide their help instead? It would be a real shame to have Russian people help us. Vladimir Poutine is only doing this to give himself some kind of a capital leadership kingdom, but shame of him. Poutine needs to stay away from Canada or our country will become as shitty as his. Will Trudeau make the right decision for once?

Its quite strange knowing all the trouble going on in one of the richest places of Canada. It have absolutely no impact what so ever on myself, and not even on the value of my investment portfolio. As the summer shyly arrived, I am working hard at the gym to get the hot body of a little mermaid. However, today was quite cold in Montreal and in some places, they are expecting snow... So its not anytime soon that I will be able to show it all outside.

My very last investment was made in Andrew Peller Ltd (ADW.B). I used to have my eyes on Whistler Blackcomb Holdings Inc. (WB) and a Globe and Mail article just made me rethink about that stock now. I have close to $500 in RRSP cash inside my broker account. That money came from dividend distribution that didn't roll over to generate new stocks. I am tempted to invest in WB.

I am very glad that my portfolio is doing well because if not, I will be crying right now. And I have no time for desperation. I am currently working more than full-time, and on top of that I worked out 8 to 10 hours at the gym and I try to go to bed early not to brake down. Life is good and easy when my portfolio is on the high.

Fort McMurray devastation had no hard effect on the TSX, at least for now

What's going on in Fort McMurray right now seem to be so unreal. Its really sad that a place that been know for being a rich paradise for workers had turn into a fucking living hell. I am from New Brunswick and when you are from New Brunswick, you know for sure people how had been in Fort McMurray, made money and went back, or are currently living there. A lot of New Brunswickers went down West for jobs. And it was almost my case. While job searching many years ago, I was offered a secretary job in Alberta, in a real estate agency. I don't remember in which city it was. Anyway, I didn't go, and I don't have any regrets, especially now.

It seem like Fort McMurray sad events don't have any current effects over the TSX. I estimate my net worth to be of at least $156 000, which is strange, in many ways, because I am at my highest ever. Its not slowing down at work, I even have to do plenty of extra hours just to be able to make it. Seem to me like I will still be working full-time for at least the next 2 to 3 years ahead. I really need to be working full-time until I hit 40.

Its unfortunately in time like these that I congrad myself for not being a homeowner. When you get out of work and that your home is being destroyed, you can only rely on the money that you had put aside. Those who didn't made any savings are getting hurt very badly. They cannot fly away whenever its possible and relocated very easily. It doesn't worth it to have expensive furniture and have so many clothes that you don't have enough of a wardrobe to put all your stuff in. In modern days, less is more. Home and material things can be destroyed, but money and stocks remain yours, no matter what.

Thank you
