In my RRSP portfolio, Park Lawn Corporation (PLC) is a rocking star

The weather is very hot these days in Montreal - too hot for my taste. I had been hitting to the gym after work almost every day this week. At least, I exercise in the comfort of air conditioning. Better enjoy the heat anyway because the end of August is coming and so is my birthday! The count down continue until... August 27. Be ready.

My newest investment in Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B) didn't grow yet, but I was happily surprise for another reason. My Morguard North American Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (MRG.UN) stocks finally went up. Just a bit, but maybe MRG.UN is going in the right direction. All of my recent investments are doing well. RPI.UN is down a little, but only of $13.29. Among my recent acquisitions, I highly recommend Park Lawn Corporation (PLC). PLC gain 6.4% since it hit on my RRSP portfolio. The activity sector of PLC is very particular, but I think its the fact that its so particular that make this red rose grow grow grow! I can only recommend Park Lawn Corporation (PLC) to anyone searching for their portfolio red rose.

When I came back from my vacation in New Brunswick, there's one thing I was craving for: a good expresso! I got my expresso, but after that, done over. I no longer buy my daily coffee on my way to work. I had been watching my expenses very carefully since I came back. To do so, I work with a cash envelop. My weekly allowance is of $125. That cash allowance doesn't include my rent ($650), my Internet ($45.34), cell phone ($40.24), gym membership ($14.38) or banking fee ($3.45). My allowance represent a $500 to cover all extra living expenses like grocery, a few expressos and other during the month. Its nothing much, but I still have a bit more than $100 left to finish the week. This is really helping me to control my budget. Fact is, the less you spend, the less you want to spend.

As you can imagine, as my birthday coming, all the money save during this month is probably going to fly away over some clothes, make-up, wine and... a cigar??? lol And maybe, a new investment. I need good luck with that.

Welcome in my US portfolio Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B)

I had sold my Sprott Physical Silver Trust ET (PSLV) units, as you know, and the sell felt like a real  release. The sell left over a little sum of money in US dollars. I wanted to invest that money, but I have no idea what to invest in, so many choices! Well, the stock was pick easily when I read that Warren Buffett was offering to share his tax returns along with Trump's. I wish that will happen soon. I don't care much about the tax returns of Donald Trump, but I am very curious about Warren Buffett!

And this is how, like magic, that my very first exclusively USA stock investment idea came to me. I was going to invest in the company of the Oracle of Omaha himself! Today, I invested in Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B). I would had preferred to invest in BRK.A, but one stock alone of that one currently worth $215 300!!!!!!

It doesn't look like Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B) pay any dividend and I was only able to purchase a few stocks today. If I am lucky, maybe one day that investment I made today will worth $215 300! I guess that the best way to get a tiny bit of the best of Warren Buffett is to invest in
Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B).

I started using Stockopedia a little while ago. Its an amazing tool that have a lot to offer. I wrote about it in previous posts. One of Stockopedia coolest feature is the Buffettology-esque Historical Growth Screen. For the Canadian stock market, ONLY 5 stocks come out, and I own 3 of them in my portfolio. I never heard of the 2 other stocks, and they are not really catching my interest. Want to know which 5 stocks are making it in the Buffettology-esque Historical Growth Screen? To find out, try the free trial of Stockopedia.

In other words, for now, I am still browsing to search for my next Canadian everything.

Finally saying goodbye to Sprott Physical Silver Trust ET (PSLV)

I did a major portfolio cleanup job back on June, on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and I was very pleased. I finally got rid of CPG and a few other junk stocks that I could no longer stand having in my life. And now, my investment portfolio just feel like its better than it never been before. But there's still a few disturbing items in there that just seem like its keeping me behind. Its my last month as a 35 years old, so I am better move fast before I get... any older?!??!! August 27 is the date!! By the way, anyone would like to be my honey dip for my birthday? Really anyone! PLEASE.

For now, I have other concerns.

This is my new favorite YouTube song that I keep listening on and on and on.

My portfolio is a collection of variety of stocks that I pick for different reasons. But they all have this thing in common: I invested each and single of them because I truly believe I was making the right move. After all, its my money that I invest, not the money of the neighborhood! But I sometimes fail. Overtime, failures had made it possible to pop up the 164k net worth. When you lose money, you learn quickly.

For me, gold and silver investment is mostly behind me. I probably never again invest in silver. I still carry on stuff from my lucrative quick buying-and-selling silver units, an investment I was stock with because it lost value - and it never went back like it used to be and probably never will. That investment from very dark days is: Sprott Physical Silver Trust ET (PSLV). PSLV is in US dollars.I had lost $1 842 so far on PSLV.  Currently, my investment worth $1 232.45 (in US dollars).

Its very sad for me, but I am not going no where with Sprott Physical Silver Trust ET (PSLV). I cannot continue holding to it. I could reinvested the money in a killer US stock and maybe one day recover form the loss. I will very soon sell off my units of Sprott Physical Silver Trust ET (PSLV) because I am very, extremely tired of having it in my portfolio.

Another problematic stock is EnCana Corporation (ECA). I bought ECA for both my non-registered and RRSP portfolio years ago. And I massively lost money on that one. For this one, my mind is not clear. Does ECA have any chance of recovery? I lost $3 913.27on ECA alone in my non-registered portfolio, and $2 225.24 in my RRSP. I guess you understand the disgust feeling I have while looking at it. To sell or not to sell, that is the question. In Stockopedia, ECA ranking is quite low. ECA is from their Earnings Downgrade Momentum Screen. I could worth to hold and see. But I am tired of waiting on this one. Still no decision made.

Another stock that is causing me vomiting no matter how much I admire the founder: Just Energy Group Inc. (JE). I lost $4 496.09 on that one. Sell or hold? Surprise: ranking on Stockopedia is good. But still no decision made.

Is about all of the most disturbing elements that I unfortunately have in my portfolio. For PSLV, my choice is made, but for the others, I still don't know.

For the first time in history, the Dividend Girl is welcoming a net worth of $164 403.10

I was curious to update my portfolio and see what the final numbers were looking like. I was hoping for a 168k net worth, but at $165 403.10, I am a little bit lower than estimated. At least, I am at mi highest net value ever. Will I be able to hit on the 170k mark in time for my 36 birthday? And a 200k by the end of the year? We'll have to be patient and see.

165k is not a lot in term of net worth for a 36 years old, but at least, I am trying. Only 4 years ahead before I hit the big forty. And at that time, I would like to be sitting on a $300 000 net worth. Its possible, but the stock market will be on my side.

I have a rough night, I didn't sleep very well and I was up on my feet at.. 7:30! So my morning was busy updating my portfolio. I went saw Jason Bourne with Matt Damon yesterday it may what disturbed my beauty sleep. Like always, Matt Damon is delivering a strong performance. I love every movies he's in.

I have to say that I cheat on my net worth. Its currently of $164 403.10. Next week is pay day, I will have a $1 000 to put down on my credit line. That's not really cheating, isn't?

All of my new stocks pick had made by using Stockopedia had done very well - at the exception of Morguard North American Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (MRG.UN). I am especially marvelously impress by Park Lawn Corporation (PLC). It find it place inside my RRSP. And I am currently thinking about selling MRG.UN and replace it by PLC.

My debt situation on date of July 29, 2016

$3 500 at a low interest rate of 4% (credit line rate) = $140 in annual interest

$66 799.15  at 4.25% (margin money coming from my broker account) =
$2 838.97 in annual interest
Total of debt: $70 299.15

Welcome in my RRSP portfolio Richards Packaging Income Fund (RPI.UN)

I am still feeling fresh and new like a butterflied from my vacation and it almost been one week now. Major count down ahead, in less than a month, I will be 36 years old. I don't believe it. Anyway, today, TD WebBroker was offering me one - one single free trade. Since I had money left in my RRSP, real cold cash, not money coming from a margin, credit card or credit line - I decided it was the perfect time to place a new cool investment move!

I previously exposed a little list of stocks that I found by browsing on Stockopedia, but only one made the cut: Richards Packaging Income Fund (RPI.UN). And I decided to invest in this one inside my RRSP. I like what I read about this company, ranking seem ok on Stockopedia, and I am not invested at all in their sector of activity so why not?  Stockopedia is kind of acting of a confirmation of my love for a stock.

Another stock in the same sector is CCL Industries Inc. (CCL.B). It went just sky rocket this year so far. I would had invested in this one too if I would had any money left. However, my taste play in my favor because Richards Packaging Income Fund (RPI.UN) has a much better StockRank than Richards Packaging Income Fund (RPI.UN). StockRank is a special feature of Stockopedia. For someone like me who invest more on feelings than by reading financial results - because I don't know how to read financial data and I am so not ashamed of that, well, Stockopedia do all of the dirty work. The StockRank feature Stockopedia is a condensation analysis mix of several blablabla financial data related to one specific stock.

In many ways, for illiterate people, Stockopedia make it easier to understand that specific financial blablabla. :-) I guess you understand the point now.

If you'll like to use Stockopedia whe way I do almost daily, click right here. And while doing so, do it while listening to my new favorite song, UFO of Alex Mattson, featuring Solamay:

A brand new money saving tip coming... from the mother of the Dividend Girl herself

I just came back from one week vacation in New Brunswick. This time, I was in Shediac area. I came back to Montreal with a sexy caramel tan that you can only dream of. Unfortunately, you won't be seeing any pictures of that here, but you can, at least, enjoy these:

(Pictures will probably be download later on).

Before going away for my too short vacation, remember, I invested in two stocks that I picked from Stockopedia. I invested in Morguard North American Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (MRG.UN) inside my non-registered portfolio and I also invested in Park Lawn Corporation (PLC) for my RRSP portfolio. My investment in PLC worked very well and I can thank my wonderful flair and of course Stockopedia for the good move. PLC gain $118.01 within 2 weeks. As for MRG.UN, my plan was to come back to Montreal and sell MRG.UN at profit, but it just didn't happen as no gain had been registered for MRG.UN so far. I came in too late on this one to enjoy quick gains.

However, I have a few alternatives. I could go and sell Savaria Corporation (SIS) because I already made a $127 profit on it, but I prefer to hold it in the house for now. So far, I made a $124 gain on Boyd Group Income Fund (BYD.UN) inside my TFSA. But same story here, I won't sell a stock that I believe have chances to gain more just to pay off some debt. And I won't sell any stocks that I made extremely good profit on because those are the invisible diamond rings that I have on each of my fingers. No one can see them, only I. I see $1 100 gain on AGU, $1 416 gain on BNS, $410 gain on BCE... And I have others like that. My most beautiful pearl of all is Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (PBH), on which I made a $17 000 profit on so far.

I spent exactly $1 264 for my 1 week vacation in New Brunswick. I also spent one day in Prince Edward Island. I didn't purchase any clothes before going. And I didn't purchase any clothes on site or either much on souvenirs because I am going back anyway next year - I hope. I have a margin debt of $66 832 that I normally try to keep at not higher than 65k. And I also have a $4 500 debt on a credit line. I spent $939.25 on my credit card for my vacation. I currently have $7 271.25 in debt that I am looking forward to pay as quickly as possible. I currently have a $621 available to pay off my credit card. I have $148.43 in cash from my TFSA. I am waiting for an online payment of at least $102.44 from Google. My next paycheck on August 5 should bring in $1250... That bring down the debt to $5 149.38. It will probably take me at least until November to pay it down. Its totally a choice of mine, but this is what it is to carry on debt.

You know, before going to vacation, I clean my fridge, and I throw away stuff what was going to be lost. And I throw away my milk. But do you know what my mom did at home? She put her milk in the frozen so she wouldn't lose it!!! I mean, who does that, putting milk in the frozen??!!! Going back to New Brunswick is always a reality check. Its hard to imagine all the creativity that can be use to stretch a few bucks. My mom is good at that. I used to be good at it too. But over the years, I dislocated my gifts. I turn into a wacky princess who make money and spend money. A lot of it. Its not easy to save money while living in Montreal. But no worries, its going to be easier now. I have no more time to waste, especially now that I am soon turning.... 36 years old!!! My $200 000 is just so around the corner. A few good news, my net worth probably is exceeding the 165k right now and my dividend income, excluding RRSP, is at $6 725.64, very close to the so wanted $7 000. Just so close to everything.

Remember readers, don't throw away your milk if you go away for vacation, freeze it instead. (I still cannot believe!!!!).

Welcoming MRG.UN and PLC in my portfolio! Go go go!

I always wanted to visit Nice, the south of France. Its hard to believe what happen in that paradise city today, especially on the day of their national celebration. These days, everything and anything can happen. We had tragic events of our own in New Brunswick a few years ago when Justin Bourque shot 5 RCMP officers, killing 3 of them, in Moncton. It was the attack of a man suffering from mental illness.

I am soon about to hit to New Brunswick for my vacation so I decided it was time to buy my bus ticket... I took the metro yesterday and I almost suffocated. It was so hot. I may by turning 36 years old, but I was asked by the rep if I was a student... You just cannot know how much I was happy. Especially knowing that 20 years ago, I was celebrating my sweet sixteen, and now at 36, what am I celebrating? Well, I thing I can highly celebrate the fact that I don't do my age. Thank you God, the angels and all the saints. For now, time had stopped at, let say, at my 27 birthday or something like that. Its acceptable for now.

Air doesn't circulate in my little apartment and I am burning in the hot heat, but it was even worst yesterday. I am now vacation ready and I can't wait to escape Montreal, even if its for a few days. I am getting tired of browsing Stockopedia, its going to be nice to be away for a little while. I don't worry for my portfolio. I have $26 000 left on my margin, I should be fine. I guess that my net worth is about of 162k-163k for now. If the whole Europe shut their mouth until August 27, I may be able to celebrate my 36 birthday with a 170k net work if the TSX hit on the 15 000 points or less.

I secretly bought some Morguard North American Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (MRG.UN) stocks hoping it will go high. As for Park Lawn Corporation (PLC), it went for my RRSP. I think I made good choices with those two. I am not in a rush to sell MRG.UN but I am in need of money. Its probably about $800 that I am going to spend for my vacations so yeah, Stockopedia is better be my next everything. We'll see.

So have fun on Stockopedia until you overdose and enjoy the summer until August 27.

Discovering Park Lawn Corporation (PLC) via Stockopedia

We had a disastrous and grey weekend and now, the weather is just way too hot, and tomorrow is going to be just worst. Its the perfect time to hit out at the gym right after work because I really cannot stand the weather outside. Its just very awful.

My non-registered portfolio closed at $140 643.86, but that's only because I continue what I began on June 24. I sell again a few stocks, actually 2 today: PGF and CPG. I wanted to sell those 2 for a long time and now it had been done. I registered a small capital loss, which might be less than 1k. I wrote it somewhere. I am now using $64 701.67 of my margin money. My TFSA closed the session at
$39 914.01. I cannot wait to hit on the 40k in there.

I continue having fun with Stockopedia, which I talked about yesterday. I went through lists and lists of stocks. Here is what I try to find while browsing Stockopedia. I want to play, but I don't want to lose money.

-NO penny stock - nono for now.
-I try to find stock that exceed the value of the pre-2008 stock crash and I am looking for a perfect high rocket chart - nothing else. I want perfection.
-Company paying a reasonable dividend (the yield shouldn't be too high, if not, I find its a sign of a bad management).
-Companies that have a good "StockRank" - its a feature related to Stockopedia.
-A few screens feature if possible.
-A good "magic formula" - another feature you'll find while browsing stock on Stockopedia.

Stockopedia gives user access to many stocks. My old Sugar Rogers - which I really hate - appear in a few screening.... And of course, that along make me doubt of the good being of some screenings. Anyhow, you should see Stockopedia and simply ignore the stocks that you don't like anymore - like for myself - Rogers Sugar.

I spent number of hours. And once again, Stockopedia is interesting. Its a tool. But you should consider making your investment decisions while respecting your own logic, the same way you do usually. I think that's really important. don't underestimated yourself over a "machine". Heart and reasons are the best tools of all.

And to continue on the same note little critic, if Stockopedia would be that powerful, the founders wouldn't be out there still working 9 to 5, simple as that. Once you find something of interest go check it on the TSX web site, just to make sure that the essential info - like chart and dividend match to what is on Stockopedia. Not that it doesn't match, but don't rely on anyone else than yourself for any decisions you'll make. I saw some dividend info that didn't match actually.

Ok, so before I try to go to sleep, here are the two marvelous stocks that I really want my readers to learn about:

Morguard North American Residential Real Estate Investment Trust (MRG.UN)
Park Lawn Corporation (PLC)

PLC is very interesting. Since I still have about 3k cash inside my RRSP, I may invest a bit in PLC tomorrow. As for MRG.UN if you feel like playing on the market and want to do a quick buy and sell, well, I cannot promise anything - but this could be a good one.

I lost track of the contribution room left for my TFSA. Until I figure it out, I may play on my margin, just for fun and we'll see if Stockopedia is the kind of thing that can do me well. Park Lawn Corporation (PLC) had been around since 1892. This one is for Gothic investors. I am a Gothic investor now I guess.

While browsing Stockopedia, I also but aside the following Canadian tickets. Are you ready? There you go:

LUC, DR, VCM, PIH, RC, NCC.A, GIB.A, RPI.UN, MTY, ZCL, TFI, AF, VCM, WPK, RBA, HWD: STRONG SUGGESTION BUY COMING FROM ME, EMP.A and WFT.

I just save you hours of work!

HWD is another interesting stock. And also RPI.UN.

At a point, I really came to the conclusion that I already have a portfolio jam pack of very very good Canadian stocks. I just need to keep on moving and I will be sitting on a 200k net worth in no time. What are those very good stocks? Subject to be talk again later.

Thank you
