The TSX closed this Monday session on a solid 21,977.83 points. Today, my overall stock-only portfolio gained only +0,037%, but I am willing to take any gain. I am standing proud and high on my highest value ever which is very close to the $360,000. At this point of the journey, I am still looking around for new stocks to invest in because that's my thing, but I am not looking to invest massively in one stock in particularly. And these days, I never do so. I can invest as little as one stock per new investment if I want to, thanks to National Bank Direct Brokerage's $0 commission. I am just doing so well that I don't want to mess it up. Obviously I won't, but I prefer to stay on the save side of things. I don't want to be over-exposed to anything that could hurt my beautiful results. Its just the way I am feeling right now. Just like if that almost $360,000 net worth wouldn't be here to stay too long...
We never know.
Currently, I am thinking about getting rid - or majority sell - my LifeWorks Inc. (LWRK) stock that I hold inside my TFSA portfolio.
My non-registered portfolio closed the session at $147,766,10, my US portfolio at $5,141.38 US, my RRSP stock only portfolio at $66 614,14 and my TFSA portfolio at 133 086,46. Things are looking quite good on there. My investment portfolio had been growing like crazy and I am enjoying it. The total asset that I own over National Bank Direct Brokerage is now exceeding $350,000. Bitcoins and Ethereum are both making some interesting gain.
At a point during the day, Bitcoin was in the $60,000 CAN. Trust me when I say, I just cannot wait to sell at my profits my Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) and Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) units. I think we are going in the good direction to see that happen in a couple of weeks. When it comes to 3iQ CoinShares Ether ETF (ETHQ), I only have a small investment in it, but I really like Ethereum and I would like to keep that investment inside my TFSA portfolio.
I have a few dollars available inside my TFSA and RRSP portfolio that are just laying there doing nothing. While checking out on my options, I found out that Brian Madden, chief investment officer at First Avenue Investment Counsel was from today BNN's Market Call. Here's Brian Madden opinion on what I considered being one of my favorite stock, not to say my favorite stock: Toromont Industries Ltd (TIH). I like TIH right from the start. This stock is so strong, its one of my many stocks that help me to turn into a rich girl who can buy her neighbourg home if she wants do. Its actually selling for $180,000, but I am not interested in buying it. I just don't consider myself as being "rich" enough to be a homeowner. Also today, Brian Madden talked about Open Text, which I own a few stocks. I find his opinion to be interesting. I agree on what he had to say about Open Text. I actually like to listen to Brian Madden interviews at BNN because I always find that he's interesting. And I mostly agree with him.
Brian Madden is chief investment officer at First Avenue Investment Counsel. It seems to be a firm that manage rich people money. The minimum amount to invest with them is not currently disclose on their web site, but I remember that the information was once in there at that time and it was something in the $300,000 or $350,000. I am not against the idea to have professionnals to manage my money, but it wouldn't be all of what I have, that's for sure, just a slice of it.
Parex Resources Inc. (PXT) is a stock pick of Brian Madden. I find it to be interesting and I am keeping the stock ticket on the side, just in case. I had spotted PXT back in 2019, but I never invested in it. Could I now invest even just a small amount in PXT? Maybe.
While experiencing a big tax refund for 2021, I know its still early on, but I am already thinking about my 2022 RRSP contribution. I know that I need to contribute at least $6,000-$7,000 in my RRSP to make it worth it. Its quite an amount. I was thinking to invest a $2,000 in Fondaction. Its a nice option for Quebeckers - which I am - for RRSP contribution, because the government offer an 30% until a certain amount. You can read it all here.
I wasn't expecting it, but I closed the day on a very good $357,075.04 net worth with a total in assets of $403,792.28. I got the help of a big paycheque, and a little bit of help coming from the TSX, who closed today's session at a great 22,005.94 points. I didn't receive yet the close to $2,000 that I am expecting for my tax refund. I don't know if this will last still for very long, but for now, I am enjoying my strong numbers, and I published portfolio investment update after portfolio investment update as long as the numbers play in my favor - and oh yeah they do.

Yesterday, three nice things happen to me. The first one: I again hit on my highest net worth ever, this time at a pretty good $355,363.77. For the first time ever, I had registered a total assets of $402,081.01, with a margin debt of $46,717.24. Interesting fact: I am now only missing $44,636.23 before hitting my first $400,000 net worth. The amount that I am missing before hitting that $400,000 net worth - $44,636.23 - is actually lower than the amount of my margin debt, $46,717.24.
Also yesterday, I received an email saying that my income tax for 2021 had been done and completed. And it was! I wans't expecting anything until the first week of April, since the confirmation email was saying it could take up to 5 weeks to have it completed. I check it up and everything seems in order so I sign it electronically. It will go its way to the federal and provincial. And the good news is, I am getting a tax refund exceeding $1,000. But that wasn't all.
The third good thing that happen to me yesterday is that since the Quebec provincial government had signed its last budget before the elections, the CAQ party decided to buy its electors by making a one-time $500 cheque for people with an income of $100,000 or less. Basically, I am among those 6.4 million individuals who will get the $500, which will be received under the form of a tax reduction. This means that my tax refund got closer to the $2,000. I am greateful, for once, I am getting a little tax break. However, spreading money over to citizens who don't really need it doesn't do anything constructive to Quebec society. It just really upset me and very sincerely, being a New Brunswicker is up to this date the greatest proud of my life. I don't even know how Quebeckers can deal with themselves.
Yesterday, I was screaming here and there around the house, proudly: I AM A QUEBECKER AND I AM GETTING 500 BUCKS, and you don't! The "you don't" refer to my old folks who are New Brunswickers... Let just say that we were laughing hard. They were pissed and told be to shut up! It was just so hilarious. And I just kept saying it from time to time out of the blue... LOL. Going all crazy for $500. That's me.
For now, I plan to just keep that money in my savings account. Once I go back to Montreal, around the end of May, I have a few medical appointments, with professional that I actually trsut despite that they are based in Quebec province. My insurance cover a big part, but I will have to pay from my pockets to a certain extense. Also, I would like to see my "cold cash" section of my investment portfolio - that being my savings - in the $10,000. Now that my net worth is slowly knowcking the door to the $400,000, its just kind of more normal to have at least $10,000 in savings.
Today, my net worth is a bit lower than $355,363.77. My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $147,069.99, my US porfolio at $4,962.69 US, my RRSP portfolio at $66,431.14, and my TFSA portfolio at $132,453,04.
