There are many reasons why I haven't blog for the past couple of days, it feels like I haven't written anything in the longest time! The TSX had been not disappointing, but going on nowhere and I find those times to be extremely boring. Also, last week, we had amazing weather in Montreal and I took advantage.
My non-registered portfolio closed this past Friday session at $121,558.43, my TFSA portfolio at $114,617.58 and my RRSP - stocks only - $56,101.47. At 18,752.58 points the TSX is still going strong. My investments in Bitcoin funds are doing ok:
Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC): +6.52%
Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B): -2.03%
Things should be better tomorrow at the opening for BTCC.B. Back at 12:23 pm today, Bitcoin was trading at $71,124.44 CAN. I was recently watching a video featuring Suze Orman on YouTube.
It happens that we share pretty much a similar view on Bitcoin on at least one specific point, and that being: you should only invest an amount that you can afford losing, in case of bad luck. I don't like Bitcoin. However, Suze Orman's feelings about Bitcoin are different, she like Bitcoin. I am only investing in Bitcoin funds because I know there's money that can be made. I made several hundred in the past and I expect to make even more. This time around, I am surfing more on an investing mode, I am holding my Bitcoin funds for now and I will sell before the Bitcoin reached the 100k value.
Lucky Canadians, our TFSA make it quite interesting to invest in Bitcoin funds, since profit made in there are tax-free. However, be aware that Canada Revenue Agency could tax trades made in your TFSA if you over trade inside your TFSA, meaning that if you are a day trader, if you buy and sell stocks regularly inside your TFSA, Revenue Canada could get back to you and ask that you pay taxes on your capital gains, just like if those gains were made inside a non-registered account...
I don't trade that much in my non-registered, TFSA, or RRSP portfolio, so I hope that once I will sell my Bitcoin funds inside my TFSA portfolio - at a big profit of course - my victorious gains will go straight under the radar and hopefully, I won't have to pay taxes on those extravaganzas $$$. Like anyone else, I need money. The desk chair that I use for work, blog, etc. just broke. I try to fix the broken leg with duct tape. It seems to be working for now, but I order a new chair, this one at Structube. It looks quite pad up and seems to be comfortable enough to work as an office chair.
My current old chair was also coming from Structube, it lasts me for a couple of years. I find that Structube has the best prices and I like their furniture. I also have a recliner chair and a nightstand that I bought at Structube several years ago. Currently, the bottom of my recliner chair needs to be patched up, but I waiting to buy black Duct tape, as my recliner chair is black. After a few years of active usage, I guess it's normal that furniture gets a bit old and destroyed along the way. For now, I am covering it up with a blanket. I don't plan to buy a new recliner chair anytime soon.
I taught that by now, I would have been able to visit my family in New Brunswick, but that's is not going to happen anytime soon. However, I am keeping good faith that I may be able to go for the next hunting season in October - maybe. It's the reason why I allow myself on another expense I made recently, it's not an extra heavy one and it's bought for-me-to-me as an Easter present: a Nespresso Essenza Mini C machine. I got tired to drink my usual coffee at home and I wanted to try something different. The Essenza Mini C is Nespresso cheapest machine. It working well for my needs and it gives a change from instant coffee. Essenza Mini C is a cute little compact machine and easy to use. The coffee came in small capsules that you can recycle in a green bag you can get at any Nespresso boutique. I actually got my green capsule recycle bag at Nespresso boutique at La Baie.
Otherwise, talking about my stocks, I just notice that recently, Savaria Corporation (SIS) hit on in the $18 per share, which is quite good. I also notice that recently that my investment in Aecon Group Inc. (ARE) started to be in a gain mode - but only a small one, but I appreciate it. Sometimes, while holding a stock in a portfolio, it takes its time to grow and sometimes that period required to experience some growth vary from one stock to another.
These days, it's good news, after good news, after good news. First, today, my net worth reached $289,917.80 in value, which is quite amazing. Only missing $10,082.20 before hitting the SO wanted $300,000 net worth. Another good news: gyms are about to reopen on March 26 in Montreal. I will do my best to go in the morning, to avoid the max of people. And the biggest news of the day: Rogers Communications is looking forward to buying Shaw Communications Inc!
For me, this is kind of feeling pretty much like a natural move. It's been said that Rogers is looking forward to buying Shaw Communications at $40.50 per share. Shaw Communications Inc. (SJR.A) closed the day at $38.26, on a super great +26.104% gain. It appears that Rogers could acquire Shaw in 2022. Even while trading in its highest value ever - just like me at present - Shaw Communications Inc. (SJR.A) is still looking appealing. Let just watch this one and see if I could make a small investment in SJR.A just to be in the game. If I do so, I a probably going to place this investment move inside my non-registered portfolio, on probably margin account money, but I am in no rush. I have been a good girl and my margin debt is down under the 50k. My margin account debt is currently at $49,366.23.
Today, Bitcoin loses in value, but it was predictable since it was at its highest value. With crypto, you need to be aware that each and single time Bitcoin reached its highest value, you'll shortly after face some sell-off. I haven't been involved with Bitcoin investments for a long time, but for the past months, it's how things had been playing. thAt the present time, I am still comfortable holding on to Bitcoin Fund The Class A units e (QBTC) and Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) inside my TFSA portfolio.
Also inside my TFSA, Aphria Inc. (APHA) surf the day on a nice +10.86 gain. However, the most exciting thing ever is that the TSX is so very close to hitting on the 19,000 points! It's an in-deep mixed feeling of total WTF and wow fun :-) Without a TSX in good shape, I am next to nothing and I know it, at least.

The 300k net worth is now just $12,085.25 away. Just for your information, this is what perfection looks like.
The TSX closed today on an amazing 18,844.57 points, which have a great effect on all of my stocks, including my investments in Bitcoins ETF. Luckily enough, today is payday and I will be able to put $300 in savings and exactly $741.74 to pay down my margin. I don't exactly have any investment plan, with the exception maybe of Empire Company Limited Non-Voting Class A Shares (EMP.A). I listened to BNN lately and they spoke about this stock. But I feel the overall chart a bit rocky. I am not in a rush to invest in this one. While the TSX almost in the 19,000 points, this is just not the time to buy, and I am not just really into anything at this time.
My investments in Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) and Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) are growing well.
For now, I am just enjoying the moment.

I had just updated my investment portfolio, and I just found out that my net worth is now at $283,675.99, which is my highest value ever. Its quite fun to know that I am now only missing $16,324.01 to hit on the 300k net worth value. If the TSX continues to well perform, I may finally hit on the 300k quite soon enough.
Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) closed today session with a +7.70% gain inside my TFSA portfolio. Soon enough, Bitcoin value will be hitting on the 70k CAN value.

Got to take the good news whenever they show up! Dividend free cash? I like that!
Nothing is better then a stock market downturn to cry out shit off and put things together in a tied hole, to put everything in perspective. When the stock market pull back, I usually don't blog much. If the stock market say F U, and will have the exact same attitude and I prefer to stay away from my broker account and from my blog when things get too difficult. I hide in my hole. At a point, a stock correction is much needed to remember our humble human condition as an investor. Because at a point, I began to felt quite invincible.
My non-registered portfolio closed today session at $115,515.07, my TFSA portfolio at $112,657.95, and my RRSP portfolio at $54,736.84. I estimate my net worth to be in the $276,309, which is not bad at all. A stock that hold in both my TFSA portfolio and non-registered portfolio, WSP Global Inc. (WSP) made great gains today, closing at +8.15%. A stock that I hold in my RRRSP portfolio, CAE Inc. (CAE), decided to close today session on a wonderful +12.77%. Go go go!
Yesterday morning at BNN's The Open, Amber Kanwar said something like Bitcoin continues its momentum. Thank you Amber Kanwar for such a great revelation. It just helps to confirm my belief, now is the time to take advantage of Bitcoin. I am looking forward to selling my Bitcoin-related investments once Bitcoin hits on the $100,000 US. Once Bitcoin hit that magic number, I think that many investors might be tempted to sell their Bitcoins, which could result in a massive sell-off and following what, the value of Bitcoin could drop instantly. That's only my personal opinion on the topic. No one can know for sure what's going to happen next for Bitcoin, but one thing for sure, a little investment in Bitcoin-related products won't hurt anyone. My idea is to only invest an amount that I don't care too much about losing, in case of bad luck. Losing money is always bad, but losing a relatively small amount is not too bad.
At 8:30 pm yesterday, Bitcoin was trading at $70,782.34 CAN. It's quite a big non-sense to realize that one single Bitcoin worth $70,782.34 CAN! Right now, at exactly 11:06 pm Eastern Time, Bitcoin is trading at exactly $71,392.56. At this rhythm, Bitcoin is going to pop up the 100k in no time. Earlier this morning, I couldn't help it, I had to invest in Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) and so I did! I had updated my portfolio to reflect that new addition in my portfolio.
In my TFSA portfolio, I now have exposure to the wonderful world of crypto with both Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) and Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC). For the present time, I feel that my portfolio is pretty much complete. I don't plan to invest in anything new. And I don't want to increase my exposure to Bitcoin either way. This means that I am done and from now on - until I decided otherwise - I will concentrate on saving money and build up a bit more of my savings, which cannot hurt by any means.
At different hours of the day yesterday, February 19, I took note of the value of Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC), Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B), and also of course Bitcoin. It gave me the following interesting chart:
I had been holding on to Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) for only one day, but I can tell you, from what I had collected today as data, that this Bitcoin ETF is less volatile than Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC). This is making me say that if you are sensible to the market volatility, you may prefer to invest in Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B). I think that BTCC.B may fit better those of you who are more into an investor vibe than a trader vibe.
On the other hand, extra volatility in its title is what is making Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) so interesting. Personally, I invested in QBTC in the hope to make a big chunk of money quickly. However, you know that I am mostly a buy and hold type of investors. I usually invest for the long run and I don't have any interest at selling my baby stocks, unless I have to because x stock going bad, or if I it happen that I need money. Luckily, if never happen so far.
My investment in Purpose Bitcoin ETF CAD ETF non-currency hedged units (BTCC.B) closed today session at +1.73%, and my investment in Bitcoin Fund The Class A units (QBTC) closed today session at +1.93%. My non-registered portfolio closed yesterday session at $113,766.65, my TFSA portfolio at $113,568.88, and my RRSP portfolio, stocks only, at $53,242.52.
On another note, I have to say that I did my best trying to control myself, but I can't no longer stand my hair. I am want an hair cut. I NEED AN HAIR CUT AND I NEED HIGHLIGHTS. I already took an appointment :-)
